Lloyd (AKA Pablo Irie) Arjun was born March 16th 1961 at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston Jamaica
Pablo resided with his Mother in the Woodpecker Avenue area of Western Kingston before he moved to Clarendon to stay with his Grandmother Rachel Elizabeth Renford (R.I.P.) where he spent much of his youth.
It was while in Clarendon that he met a popular entertainers like Winston McAnuff, otherwise known as “The Electric Dread”. And others, McAnuff was a school teacher teaching at The Baillieston Primary School during this time. He was never too shy to bring his guitar to school and sing a few of his songs from his archives. Pablo was soon playing the guitar and various other instruments. He later became a back up musician at Church functions and DJ for Local Sound System.
During this time he was given the name Pablo Irie by his #1 fan and elder brother Clinton Brown (R.I.P.). He became popular in the country and was know for playing the guitar and singing country and western music for fans with his childhood friend Floyd Malcolm who played the accordion. Floyd was very instrumental due to his passion for music.
When Pablo completed high school he moved back to Kingston to seek employment opportunities but to also pursue his musical career. He lived in the Cockburn Pen area of West Kingston with his cousin, Delton Screechie, a popular entertainer, and family. It was there he met Jah Thomas, Nigger Kojack and Lisa just to name a few. According to Pablo Irie, “We did have a big yard and a whole heep a dance use to keep Deh”.
Pablo’s big brake came when his brother Huclit Brown got him on a talent show at the Virgin’s Disco Club in New Kingston. He won first prize with his imitation of Lue Lepke. “I started to believe more that I was an entertainer.” said Pablo. He also tried unsuccessfully to work with Third World and Gregory Isaac.
In pursuit of his musical career Pablo moved to the United States in 1982. He resided with his Mother and continued to pursue his career in music. While living in New Jersey he got together with a group called Exodus Supreme, a popular Reggae band at the time. It was with them he got his first performance in the United States and for the first time met “Apple” of Israel Vibration who performed on the same show.
It was also with this group that he was able to share the same stage with Rankin Joe, Autense Ellis, Jose Wales among others. He started to write some songs and the group would let him perform them at future shows.
In the late 1980 he went to Jamaica and was introduced to Charlie Chaplin. He brought him along with him to Harry Jay Studio where he was working on some of his songs. It was there Pablo recorded his first song “Tribute’s to Charlie Chaplin” which had limited success but served as the motivation for his career.
In the mid 1990’s he wrote a prayer section for reggae entertainment magazine called Caribbean Pulse. Anthony White owner of this magazine was able to get him his first television debut with Telemundo Television. Pablo served as the host of the reggae artist interview portion of “The Roof”, a popular music show on Mun2 TV. According to Pablo Irie, “It was a great learning experience”.
Pablo Irie is currently very busy back in the studio working on his album Out of the Depth’s which is due to be released in the summer of 2005. He also has a new single titled Judgment Day which has received great reviews for many fans and music lovers.

Greetings !! I Bring. And I see the Planet from Down Here In Babylon, Dark Gray! Glittering. Bright Lights around the circle, with great magnetism pulling in many other planets close to it,me included.I stay focus! and it seem like all the other Planets disappear leaving just I and I and Planet only I couldn’t stay focus! but for a short while I begin to attract other Planets as well. Am in deep meditation!! Oh My God! I took my eye off the Planet cause I was concern that someone from Babylon might see me, my right hand was hot with warm vapor coming from it, this is not a dream am standing upright it’s after 7 o’clock in the morning! and so, I got out of this Meditation in consciousness. Mount Zion is Holy! lots of action, but very quiet and peaceful. My 3 to 4 minutes in consciousness seems like a lifetime, and so I wanted to share this experience with you, JAH Bless you all. O LORD, how manifold are thy works in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. My feet was still in Babylon but my Heavens was in the Heavens.
